TITHING

• Traditionally tithing has been viewed as giving 1/10th of what we earn to the local church

(Proverbs 3:9-10 ; Matthew 3:8-10 ; Hebrews 7:1-10). The New Testament speaks more often of

offerings and sacrificial giving (1 Corinthians 16:2 ; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 ; 2 Corinthians 8:3).

We want people to know that the single most important thing about giving is not the amount, but

one's attitude (Hosea 6:6 ; Matthew 6:1-4 ; 2 Corinthians 8:6-7 ; 2 Corinthians 9:7).
