SALVATION

• We believe and teach that salvation comes only from the grace of God in Jesus Christ. Through

salvation we receive the forgiveness of sins, a new nature, and the hope of eternal life. We cannot

merit or earn salvation. When God initiated this relationship with Abraham He offered a special

covenant with man. That covenant can be traced from Genesis to Revelation in various people and

times. God now offers this covenant in Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:8-10 ; 1 John 3:9 ; 2 Corinthians 5:17 ; 1 Corinthians 15:1-58 ; Ephesians 2:8-9 ; Genesis 12:1-3 ; 2 Samuel 7:4 ; Jeremiah 33:14-17 ;

Luke 2:1-20 ; Galatians 3:29 ; Revelation 22:12-17).

• We believe and teach that believers can have assurance of their salvation, but that sin may interrupt

the joy or fellowship with God, separate us from Him, and may bring disappointment, heartache,

and discipline from our Heavenly Father (John 5:24 ; John 10:27-30 ; Romans 8:1 ;

Romans 8:27-39 ; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 ; 1 John 5:11-13 ; John 15:1-6 ; 2 Peter 2:20-22 ;

2 Peter 3:17-18).
